SENO programme A special export credit insurance programme for exports to certain emerging markets. On behalf of the Dutch government, Atradius offers a special export credit insurance programme, the SENO programme, for capital goods exports to and construction projects in emerging markets where no cover is available under the standard export credit insurance facilities. The Dutch government does not always offer cover for transactions with every emerging market as part of its standard reinsurance policy. In those cases, Atradius Dutch State Business NV can, however, insure transactions in the context of promoting international business. This is intended to reinforce co-operation between Dutch companies and private businesses and governments in those markets. The covered risks are reinsured with the Ministry of Economic Affairs under the SENO programme. The SENO programme has been part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Good Projects Programme since July 2005 and offers exporters and contractors the ability to insure against non-payment risks in certain emerging markets. In line with the Dutch government policy to stimulate Corporate Social Development (CRS), a number of specific aspects of the CRS will be taken into account when assessing an export credit insurance application. In view of this you have to state, among other things, to have taken note of the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises and that you will make a best effort to adopt these guidelines into your organization. |
